When Darby Allin extended a hand to Brody King following his unsuccessful challenge for the Interim AEW World Championship once Dynamite went off of the air on Wednesday night, it generated more than a few thoughts about a potential team-up between the two parties.

On paper, putting King with Allin and Sting made a ton of sense; King was basically used as a babyface in NJPW Strong and his in-ring style has made him a fan favorite anywhere he's wrestled. Even if he will never be the go-to guy to tell kids to say their prayers and eat their vitamins, there's little reason why he couldn't be the big guy in a trio that also features a stringy young babyface who wears skeleton makeup and a 62-year-old legend who dresses like Brandon Lee's character in The Crow.

Well, if such a team-up is in the cards down the line, it's probably really far down the line, as King took Allin's offer as a personal slight and proceeded to exact his revenge via a powerbomb through a merch table at an autograph signing the two performers were booked for.

Goodness, if King is playing hard to get, he's playing like, really hard to get.

Who knows, maybe this will come into play in an immediate angle between Allun and the leader of the House of Black, Malakai Black? Or maybe this was a simple chance to lay some seeds and walk away, just in case Tony Khan and company want to come back to the idea a few months or even years down the line. It worked with King's former Ring of Honor rostermate, Jonathan Gresham, why not here too?
