Nick Saban and the Alabama football program scored a huge recruiting victory on Friday morning. Four-star offensive lineman Olaus Alinen decided to commit to the Crimson Tide over other top schools such as Georgia, Miami, Ohio State and Oregon. Alinen, who announced his decision at 9 AM Eastern time, said this after choosing Saban and Alabama football, per 247 Sports.

“You get to play for the best program of all-time. It’s a huge honor.”

Olaus Alinen said that it's “a huge honor” to play for ” the best program of all-time.” Alinen is clearly excited for the opportunity to suit up for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.

A four-star offensive tackle, Olaus Alinen attended Loomis Chauffe School, becoming the no. 118 overall prospect and the no. 17 offensive tackle, per 247 Sports' rankings. He has a football pedigree, as his father Klaus attended NFL camps and played in NFL Europe.

Alinen joins a 2023 recruiting class that currently ranks eighth in the nation, per 247 Sports. While it's a bit early to be discussing his NFL Draft prospects, the newest member of Alabama football currently projects as a mid-round choice.

However, if any school can greatly improve a recruit's draft prospects, it's Alabama football. Saban and company have had a history of churning out top draft picks, especially in the trenches.

But for the immediate future, Olaus Alinen's main focus will be keeping the Crimson Tide on top. Saban's squad has won a national championship three times in the last seven years.

It's no wonder that Olaus Alien referred to the Crimson Tide as the “best program of all-time.”
