CHICAGO — The Chicago Sky snapped a four-game losing streak with their 83-72 win over the Dallas Wings on Thursday. Angel Reese made WNBA history by amassing her seventh consecutive double-double, the most ever for a rookie. Reese shared some gripping insights after the game, including one major proposition for Bulls legend Michael Jordan.

Reese spoke about the impact she and the Sky want to have on the Chicago sports landscape. She and the team want to have great influence, just as stars like Derrick Rose, Michael Jordan, and Candace Parker did with their past Bulls and Sky teams. Reese created more excitement by extending a game invite to Jordan.

“Being able to bring [increased excitement] back to Chicago [would be great]. I mean, I love Michael Jordan, and I hope one day he comes to our game and supports us,” Reese said during Thursday's post-game press conference.

Jordan is arguably the most influential Chicago sports legend. He won six NBA championships with the Bulls and brought thrills to the city like no other. Moreover, Jordan is considered by some to be the best basketball player of all time, and his reach extends past the game into various business ventures.

Will the legend take Angel Reese's offer and tune into a Sky game during the 2024 season?

Reese further emphasized that she and the Sky want to make the entire city proud by maintaining a winning culture.

“Love being in a city that loves all sports, not just football, not just men's basketball, but also women. I think we've done a great job being able to bring [more attention] here. Bringing that winning culture back is what's important. That 2021 championship meant something to the city, and I want to do it again. So that's what's important.”

The Sky won their first franchise championship in 2021 under the leadership of Candace Parker, Courtney Vandersloot, Allie Quigley, and Kahleah Copper when they beat the Phoenix Mercury in four games.

They followed their incredible feat with a 26-10 regular season campaign in 2022, which saw them earn the second seed in the playoffs. Chicago advanced to the semifinals but lost 3-2 to a talented Connecticut Sun team. Since then, many changes of taken place, ushering the way for a new group of stars to lead the team to success.

The Sky drafted former South Carolina women's basketball star Kamilla Cardoso with the third overall pick in the 2024 Draft. Shortly after, they selected Reese from LSU with the seventh pick. Both stars won a national championship in college and look to help Chicago climb the Eastern Conference standings.

Reese has already etched her name in the WNBA record books despite being just 22 years old. Her double-double streak continues to stand as one of the best rookie starts in league history. With stout contributors and coaching alongside her, Reese and the Sky will have no problems furthering their impact on the Chicago sports landscape.

Only one question remains: will Sky fans see Michael Jordan sit courtside anytime soon?
