Former Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs was tragically found dead in a Southlake, Texas hotel room in 2019, with a toxicology finding he had reportedly ingested oxycodone, alcohol and fentanyl before he died. It's a key detail in the government's trial against former Angels communications director Eric Kay, who is facing felony charges alleging that he distributed opioids which led to Skaggs' death. On Tuesday, the jury heard from former Angels players Matt Harvey and C.J. Cron, who both delivered shocking testimonies to the Kay trial.
Harvey says he shared Percocets with Skaggs. "He had asked me… if I had anything and I think I said I had" either Percocet or oxy at the time.

Why did Cron take them?
Cron: "It was just a bad decision."
Says he got pills from Kay maybe eight times. Also got some from Kay after he left Angels. Kay would put them in his locker or shoe.— T.J. Quinn (@TJQuinnESPN) February 15, 2022
Both Matt Harvey and C.J. Cron testified to using Percocet pills during their time with the Angels. Harvey said that he shared them with Tyler Skaggs. Given that Cron is saying he received pills from Eric Kay around eight times, it's pretty safe to assume where Harvey received his supply.
Those are pretty damning statements from both Harvey and Cron in the Kay trial. Harvey, the former Angels pitcher, was then asked if he ever told Skaggs to be careful, which he said he wished he did.
Not only is it concerning that there was no shortage of drug use going on in the Angels clubhouse during the 2019 season, but it's equally concerning just how many players Eric Kay seemingly supplied drugs to.
One can bet that these won't be the only shocking testimonies to come out of the Eric Kay trial.
