The Los Angeles Angels are losers of their last 13 games. The damage goes well beyond their record. After having to fire manager Joe Maddon, Mike Trout injured his groin and left the Angels' latest game against the Boston Red Sox early.
Trout said after the game, in which the Angels lost 6-5 in 10 innings, that the injury “isn't nothing crazy” and he doesn't have an MRI scheduled for it. The Angels' center fielder will still undergo testing.
Mike Trout on his injury: “This isn’t nothing crazy.” He said he’s just trying to be smart about it and might do testing tomorrow based on how he feels when he wakes up.

The injury not being too severe is a lucky break for the Angels, though any injury to trout is bad news. After his testing, they will have a better idea of how long they will have to endure without him. With two more games against Boston preceding three games against the New York Mets and two against the Los Angeles Dodgers, they will really need him.
Trout snapped a career-long hitting drought and has three hits and a walk in his last two games. His .989 OPS is second on the Angels and his 14 home runs are the most on the team. Taylor Ward, LA's OPS leader, will have to keep up his amazing season while Shohei Ohtani, Jared Walsh and Max Stassi have to step up.
The Angels are 9.5 games back of the lead in the AL West and are losing their standing in the early-season Wild Card race. There is still plenty of time left to bounce back. It'll be up to them whether they look back on this stretch of their season and laugh or see it as the beginning of the end of a promising season.
