The Arizona State Sun Devils are apparently none too pleased with the way fans act on the mean streets of Twitter. Who could blame the school? As great as social media is for bringing people together and gathering information, it is also a cesspool of people barking up the weirdest of trees.
One of the least sacred places for the wackos on Twitter is that of the student-athlete. Ignoring that the kids playing the sport for free for their entertainment are also putting their health on the line, many a fan will tweet at a player to tell them how awful they are.
Arizona State has had enough of that hogwash.
If you feel the need to Tweet/DM degrading and insulting comments at our student-athletes, please direct it to this account instead. Thanks.

Good for the Sun Devils. Seriously. The fact the university had to even tweet this out is insane, but so too are the people that message is directed towards. Sometimes the crazies on the Internet need a kick in the rear, as a polite reminder, to be told that this is only a game. Also, you know, that the people playing it are just kids.
That tweet came a few hours after Arizona State players came under fire on Twitter from fans who were not pleased with their performances.
Sun Devils quarterback Manny Wilkins had three fumbles on the night, including one that was recovered by San Diego State. He saw some fans' ire.
After the game, some fans were on Twitter also directly talking to Blake Barnett that he should be playing ahead of Wilkins.
Unless you enjoy hatred, you would be best served not looking in any of those players' mentions at the moment.
