Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier recently released his article regarding the Assassin's Creed franchise going into live online game services. Moments later, Ubisoft unveils internal restructuring details and Assassin's Creed Infinity.

In an official post on the Ubisoft website, Nathalie Bouchard and Christophe Derennes detail the future of the Assassin's Creed franchise. Bouchard is the managing director of Ubisoft Quebec, while Derennes is the equivalent in Ubisoft Montreal.

Firstly, it goes into the structural changes within the company. Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Quebec will now work under a “collaborative, cross-studio structure.” This is then followed by the announcement that Marc-Alexis Côté will now be serving as the executive producer of the Assassin's Creed franchise. Côté has served the series under many roles, having a hand in Brotherhood, Syndicate, and Odyssey. Étienne Allonier, who has served as Assassin's Creed‘s brand director for a decade, will be joining him.

Further announcements in other key positions for the franchise follow. Then, they state: “Rather than continuing to pass the baton from game to game, we profoundly believe this is an opportunity for one of Ubisoft’s most beloved franchises to evolve in a more integrated and collaborative manner.”

However, Ubisoft's statement does not confirm nor refute the details in Schreier's article. There were no explicit confirmations of the series going live-service. They also didn't give specific details on Assassin's Creed Infinity. All we know right now is that it will be the next game in the franchise, and both Ubisoft Quebec and Ubisoft Montreal will work collaboratively on the project.

Currently, details are still sparse on the next Assassin's Creed game. However, Ubisoft has committed to a second year of support for Valhalla, which will be getting an update this summer.
