Shortly after the conclusion of the League of Legends European Championship, or LEC, Spring 2022 Regular Season, Astralis LoL is going through some changes after they announce the departure of their top laner Matti “WhiteKnight” Sormunen and support Hampus “promisq” Abrahamsson.

In a blog post, Astralis issued the following message:

WhiteKnight and promisq have been an important part of the first-ever Astralis roster in League of Legends and our League of Legends team for the past 1,5 years. We thank them for their contribution and dedication to Astralis and our League of Legends team. On the server, in the office, and as a part of the Astralis Family.

WhiteKnight, promisq, and the rest of Astralis failed to qualify for the LEC Spring 2022 Playoffs after an underwhelming score line from the team. They finished last, only winning three out of the 18 total games. As of the time of writing, there is no news yet for the rest of the Astralis LoL squad.

Astralis' League of Legends team was formed after acquiring Origen in 2018 and rebranding them in 2020. They have since played three splits, finishing in 9th, 8th, and most recently in 10th place.
