There's a lot to be excited about on the Chicago sports scene right now. The Chicago Sky just pulled off an upset of the top-seeded Connecticut Sun to reach the WNBA Finals. The Chicago White Sox are starting up what will hopefully be a deep playoff run. The Justin Fields era is underway for the Chicago Bears. The Chicago Bulls dominated in their first preseason game and have great vibes going. Jonathan Toews is back for the Chicago Blackhawks. The Chicago Cubs stink but, yeah, moving on.

With all this in mind, noted Chicago sports fan Barack Obama sent out a special message to the Sky and White Sox on Thursday. Obama made sure to give props to Chicago native Candace Parker for her role in getting the Sky to the WNBA Finals, and then he showed his excitement for his White Sox being back in the playoffs:

The Sky went just 16-16 in the regular season, but they've gone on an incredible run in the playoffs. They won two single-elimination games before beating the Sun in four games. Connecticut went 26-6 in the regular season, making this quite the accomplishment. Parker signed with her hometown team before this season, so this is really special.

Obama has been a longtime fan of the White Sox, and they're taking on the Houston Astros in the ALDS. The White Sox won the AL Central going away and have the talent to make a World Series run. Obama will be watching and cheering on intently.
