Ronald Koeman was met by a flurry of Barcelona fans bombarding his car outside of Camp Nou after losing El Clasico to Real Madrid.

Coming into the weekend, there was a sense of urgency within the Barcelona camp to get a win at home against Real Madrid. Koeman had told the press prior to the game that he was confident in his side despite having odds stacked against them. To the dismay of Barca fans, Real Madrid capitalized on the mistakes and missed chances Barcelona made throughout the match to secure a 2-1 win over the Blaugrana.

Upon exiting the Camp Nou, Koeman was greeted with a sea of unhappy Barca supporters who surrounded his car and proceeded to bang on it to express their outrage.

Koeman shed light on what occurred after the Clasico defeat. Noting that had to hold himself back from leaving his car and confronting the fans.

Via Sean Walsh of 90Min:

ā€œThere was a moment I thought about getting out, but then I thought I better not,ā€ he told a press conference on Tuesday. ā€œI understand people aren't happy but you don't expect that. There's a lot of ā€˜Tik Tok' & they want you to get involved with them.

Barcelona is now working to review footage within the vicinity to catch the perpetrators behind the mobbing. The club further notes that they will enforce the appropriate security and disciplinary actions to prevent it from happening again. Barca fans are truly desperate for a solution as soon as possible, and Koeman must act quickly to prove Laporta made the right decision of letting him stay.
