The never-ending contract extension dilemma between Bayern Munich club officials and Robert Lewandowski has continued to drag on.

Lewandowski still has a mere one more season remaining on his contract at Bayern Munich. Amid the standoff between the two sides, multiple clubs have been in the rumor mill with the Polish international for a possible permanent transfer deal over the upcoming summer transfer window, including Barcelona.

From Lewandowski’s standpoint, as he noted following Bayern Munich’s 3-1 Bundesliga home win against Borussia Dortmund, the overall dilemma has not been much of a pleasant one.

“There will be a meeting soon but nothing special happened so far,” Lewandowski said. “I'm also noticing what's going on.

“The situation is not easy for me.”

Lewandowski scored in the victory over Borussia Dortmund, as Bayern Munich clinched the Bundesliga for the 10th straight season. Bayern's league trophy celebration could end up being the Polish striker’s final one with the club, although club CEO Oliver Kahn did note earlier this month that he anticipates the forward staying put for next season.

Kahn also opened up to the German-based outlet Sport 1 that the entire situation has been far from an effortless one and that “it takes time to convince him [Lewandowski] to stay here.”

For now, Bayern Munich has three matches left in its Bundesliga schedule. Lewandowski does not have much left to play for this season, but he is two goals away from notching a second consecutive league campaign with at least 35 goals scored.
