It keeps on getting worse and worse for the Chicago Bears. Is it okay to pity Bears fans right now? I'm not sure what protocol is. Right when you think the painful transactions are done, they aren't. They missed on Russell Wilson and ended up with Andy Dalton. They had to cut pro-bowl cornerback Kyle Fuller, a favorite in the locker room on that team. And now the team has granted Akiem Hicks permission to seek a trade.

And just to lair on a thick coating of icing on this disastrous cake, Akiem Hicks is now sending out tweets that have people wondering what is going on.

The man is granted permission to seek a trade and tweets this. On the surface, no harm no foul. Bears fans are already upset, this tweet just adds a little salt to the wound. It did bring upon speculation with people wondering if a deal had been made prompting the, “Boom” or if he perhaps had just been released. The follow up tweet needs some work.

Akiem Hicks, buddy, you have to come up with something better than that. It's 11:11 so you tweet out, “Boom” ? This is the first I've seen of this from you, sir. Come up with anything else, literally anything. Here's a list of excuses that would've been better than the one you provided.

  • I tweeted “Boom” because March Madness is starting
  • I tweeted “Boom” because the weather is changing and it's nice outside
  • I tweeted “Boom” because I just had a hell of a run on the Xbox playing Call of Duty

Any of those would've sufficed.

What the Bears end up doing with Hicks is still a mystery.

At age 31, he's still one of the best interior linemen in the NFL. Entering the last year of his current contract, he is likely seeking a big payday that the Bears don't want to fork over.
