Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace are both having a cloud of uncertainty looming over their heads with regards to their future in Windy City, per NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport. Their Week 14 matchup against the Houston Texans will be a pivotal game that can either make or break their job status with the Bears moving forward.

After having a hot start to the season by winning five of their first six games, the Bears suddenly fell from grace midway through the season. They are currently on a five-game losing skid which dates back to their loss against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7.

The Bears went on to lose tightly-contested encounters against the New Orleans Saints, Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings, and ensuingly suffered a blowout defeat against the Green Bay Packers.

Their woes from the field haven't seen its end as they recently bowed to another struggling team in the Detroit Lions in Week 13 proceedings. Former QB1 Mitchell Trubisky was once again slotted at the starting quarterback position and tallied 267 yards on a respectable 26/34 passing clip along with a passing touchdown.

However, his teammates failed to feed off his production with wide receiver Allen Robinson already leading the aerial attack with 75 yards on six receptions. Trubisky was ultimately outperformed by his counterpart in the Lions' Matthew Stafford who threw three touchdowns to successfully mount a comeback for his team and ultimately escaped with a 34-30 victory.

The Bears turned a promising season into a forgettable campaign with their 5-7 record and third in the NFC North division. Strong performances to close out their remaining games will potentially help them grab a playoff seat and still keep both Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace at their respective posts for the foreseeable future.
