Former Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints head coach Mike Ditka recently praised both teams by stating they are the two best teams in the league right now. Maybe a little bit of bias involved when it comes to the Bears since Ditka coached the team to a Super Bowl victory back in 1985.

Ditka believes the Bears are better than the Los Angeles Rams, New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, as well as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers. While the Bears are indeed having a spectacular season and find themselves atop the NFC North for the first time in years, crowning them as top two in the league might be a bit premature.

The Bears have reaped the benefits of having the leagues best defense this season and the emergence of Mitch Trubisky. Trubisky looks like a completely different quarterback with new head coach Matt Nagy in charge. The offense looks fantastic and things are definitely trending upward for the Bears.

“Barring injuries, they certainly have the talent on that football team to go on to the Super Bowl and win it,” Ditka told TMZ Sports.

The addition of Khalil Mack has made the defense elite and players like Eddie Jackson, Kyle Fuller, and Akieem Hicks surely help. They say defense wins championships and as of right now Chicago has the defensive capability to hang in there with the best offenses in the league.

Chicago will take on the Rams in Week 14 in what will surely be a game of the week candidate.
