Mike Glennon can breathe easy for now, as he remains the top quarterback of choice by Chicago Bears head coach John Fox per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

Bears coach John Fox said that there won’t be a change to the depth chart at quarterback because Mitchell Trubisky had a good game against the Broncos after starter Mike Glennon struggled in his first outing with the team.

Following his preseason debut, which includes an almost comedic pick-six throw right in the game's opening drive in a 24-17 home defeat to the Denver Broncos last Thursday, Glennon was lit up on social media, particularly by a horde of fuming Bears fans. It didn't help Glennon's cause that backup Mitch Trubisky played well, as the rookie led the team with 166 passing yards on 12 of 25 completions with a touchdown and zero interceptions. Glennon, meanwhile, threw for just 20 yards on 2 of 8 attempts.

With Fox's trust in him possibly to change for the worse if he puts up another miserable performance this coming Saturday against the Arizona Cardinals, Glennon knows that the last thing he wants right now is put unnecessary pressure on his shoulders. After all, it sounds like a veteran quarterback isn't sweating a mere preseason game.

“It’s bigger than the first, but not as big as the third,” Glennon said, via Zach Zaidman of the Bears radio network. “Obviously want to go out and play well, but don’t want to make too big of a deal and put too much pressure on a preseason game.”

Glennon signed to a much-maligned three-year $45 million deal with the Bears this NFL offseason, which looks even more foolhardy in retrospect with the Bears taking Trubisky second overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Bears have three preseason games left on the schedule, which is more than Glennon needs to convince Fox that he's the right choice for the starting gig.
