Several teasers greeted the League of Legends community earlier today, all about the release of the newest champion Bel'Veth, the Void Empress.

The first teaser is an unlisted YouTube video posted by the official League of Legends channel, titled “To the Prophet of the Void.” If this doesn't ring a bell, this is Malzahar's epithet.

It opens with what we all assume to be Bel'Veth's eye, addressing Malzahar as her “prophet.” She goes on to announce her arrival to him, saying “my Prophet, your Empress has arrived. Witness your reward: the end of everything.” The short teaser ends with Bel'Veth opening two more eyes, this new pair looking more human-like than the first one. The League of Legends logo is also shown to be “corrupted,” as if the Empress is seeping in.

There is a second teaser, titled “To the Eye of the Void,” this time addressed to Vel'Koz.

Once again referring to their epithet, Bel'Veth declares: “Eye of the Void, your Watchers are incapable of understanding. I am the Void, and I will remake all of Runeterra.” Vel'Koz is shown looking afraid, and the similarities between Vel'Koz' and Bel'Veth's eyes are drawn.

Both videos had the same description, which is simply “May 20, 2022 12:00PM PT.” Many assume this is when the champion will be officially revealed. The teasers do not stop here though, as keen-eyed fans have noticed that Kai'Sa has received some interesting tweaks to her splash art in the League of Legends Universe website. In this “corrupted” splash art, various appendages wrap around Kai'Sa's body, with one even reaching her head.

The sneaky content did not end there, as new voice lines were added into the PBE as well. These Bel'Veth voice lines trigger when playing as champions who are from the Void, or have ties to it, such as Kai'Sa or Kassadin. Check out the voice lines here:

This further cements Bel'Veth's stature as an important figure in the Void, as well as her animosity with Vel'Koz and their Watchers. All of these teasers point towards one thing: The Void Empress is set to consume the Rift.
