It's been a rough season for Andy Dalton as he once wanted out of the winless Cincinnati Bengals. However, a win against the New York Jets became the perfect platform for him to announce that he wants to return to the Bengals next season.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the redhead quarterback did consider leaving the Bengals after head coach Zac Taylor benched him on deadline day. While it definitely wasn't a pleasing experience for the 32-year-old pass-caller to watch from the sidelines, his time away from the pocket helped him realize that he hasn't lost an inkling of passion for the game. He wanted to be the guy who will take the Bengals to new heights.

He understands that his actions over the past couple of weeks haven't given him a good look for some Bengals fans and front office, but he prays that it wouldn't matter at the end of the day.

“I have no idea what’s going to happen,” Dalton said regarding the team’s decisions for next year. “I’m just going to do all I can to win the last four games.”

The TCU product had a solid outing in his first game back in the pocket. He completed 22 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown. He's shown poise and maturity that helped the team overcome a wildly inconsistent Jets side.

Dalton is poised to have a better year yards-wise in comparison to his 2018 campaign as he's now 2252 passing yards through eight games with still a couple more games to go. He hasn't been extremely effective in turning his passes to touchdowns as he's only gotten a total of nine touchdown passes before this victory.

However, things could change for the better in Cincinnati. After all, a win could make a terrible season a little bit better.
