Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase had a huge game for the team in their Monday night victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. After the game, Chase spoke his truth about how his team shapes up for a possible run to the AFC playoffs.

“We're just getting ourselves one step closer to get our foot in the door,” Chase said, per ESPN. “And once we get in the door, we should kick it down.”

Chase finished the game with an impressive performance, catching 11 balls for 149 yards and a touchdown. Chase made a spectacular 76-yard touchdown catch for the Bengals in the third quarter. That play made a huge difference as the Bengals won 34-31 in overtime. The win snapped a three game losing streak for the team.

“I just felt like being an evil person today,” added Chase. The receiver also passed the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the third time in as many years.

The Bengals are still in the playoff hunt in the AFC but need some help. The team is now 6-6 and 10th overall in the AFC. The team is three games behind Baltimore in the AFC North standings, but only one game behind both Cleveland and Pittsburgh for a possible wild card spot. The Bengals must string some wins together in December to put themselves in position to get in the playoffs. Just one more loss is likely to completely dash their playoff hopes.

Jacksonville falls to 8-4 with the loss. The Jaguars are in much better shape in the AFC playoff hunt at the moment but are also fighting to get the top seed in the AFC. The Jags are a game behind Miami and Baltimore.

The Bengals next play the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Kickoff is at 1 Eastern.
