Ja'Marr Chase is coming off a wildly impressive rookie season with the Cincinnati Bengals. He used his relationship with his old LSU quarterback and teammate Joe Burrow to help him catch 81 passes for 1455 yards and 13 touchdowns. That earned him Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, as well as a Pro Bowl selection and a spot on the All-Pro second team. Oh, and he helped lead the Bengals to Super Bowl LVI too.

It was quite the start to Ja'Marr Chase's career, and everyone is expecting big things from the second year wideout after his explosive rookie campaign. It's not a stretch to say that Chase is one of the top wide receivers in the NFL heading into the 2022 season; after all, he did earn All-Pro honors.

Unfortunately for Chase, the player rating developers working on the new Madden 23 video game don't agree. With the ratings beginning to come out today, it was revealed Chase wasn't among the ten highest rated wide receivers in the game. In fact, Chase somehow slipped all the way down 20th on the list with an 87 overall rating.

There's no way there are 19 wide receivers that were better than Chase in 2021, which many people noted after the ratings came out, including Ja'Marr Chase himself. Chase quickly took to Twitter to let everyone know how he felt about his low rating, and it seems like he's taking it in stride.

As if Chase needed more motivation after coming up short in the Super Bowl with the Bengals last season. Madden ratings can always change throughout the season, but this is an absurdly low rating for one of the best wide receivers in the league last year. Ja'Marr Chase may be underrated now, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him become a top ten rated receiver in Madden 23 at some point this season.
