It's in the name of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. After leading the Bengals to an upset win against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, Burrow is not a win away from joining an extremely exclusive football club. If the Bengals win in Super Bowl 56 over the Los Angeles Rams, Burrow would become just the third starting quarterback in the NFL to secure a National Championship and a Super Bowl title — ever.

The first and only two so far in that group are no other than Burrow's namesakes in the legendary pair of Joe Montana and Joe Namath.

Via Adam Schefter of ESPN:

Montana, of course, won four Super Bowl rings during his time with the San Francisco 49ers in the 1980s. Before all of that, Joe Cool spearheaded the Notre Dame Fighting Irish's National Championship run in 1977 when they beat the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl.

As for Namath, he tasted success with the Alabama Crimson Tide in 1964, leading Bear Bryant's team to a 10-0 record in the regular season. Despite losing to Texas in the Orange Bowl, Namath and the Crimson Tide were distinguished as champions, according to the polls at that time. In the pros, Namath famously drove the New York Jets to an upset win against the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl 3 in 1986.

Win or lose in Super Bowl 56, Burrow has indeed already established his legend in Bengals history.
