Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals was the top overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Naturally, it makes sense he would be the highest-rated rookie quarterback in Madden 21.

Electronic Arts released its ratings for all the rookie signal-callers, with Joe Burrow earning a 76 overall rating.

Interestingly, Joe Burrow's 83 speed rating him places him just behind Philadelphia Eagles rookie Jalen Hurts. His 95 toughness rating also leads all rookie quarterbacks.

Joe Burrow does not have the best rating in the throw power category. However, Madden accounted for his poise and awareness by giving him an 84 “throw under pressure” rating, and his accuracy ratings are the best of the class, as well.

Gamers might also look to use Joe Burrow outside the pocket. Aside from the speed, Burrow was also given a play action rating of 83 to go along with an 86 in the “throw on the run category.” Whether opposing defenders are in his face or scrambling out, users can have faith Burrow will deliver balls on target.

While Madden players can look forward to seeing what Joe Burrow can do on the virtual gridiron, the Bengals are hoping their new can offer some hope in his rookie season.

Joe Burrow had the most prolific passing season of any quarterback in NCAA history in his final year with the Tigers, and he has been lauded for his smarts and maturity.

Cincinnati will also surround Burrow with intriguing talent. Running back Joe Mixon rushed for over 1,100 yards last season, and the receiving duo of A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd is as strong as any in the NFL, if Green is healthy.

Just how far Joe Burrow can take the Bengals remains to be seen. But one thing is for sure: he is the new face of the franchise, and might even earn his own Madden cover some day.
