The Cincinnati Bengals hope to erase the bitter taste of their narrow loss to the Seattle Seahawks by defeating a tough San Francisco 49ers in Week 2. Joe Mixon is working towards making that trip and contributing to a possible W.

Adam Schefter reported that the running back is still a major question mark coming into the game. However, his insistence means that the team will check him until the very last minute.

Mixon left the field during the Seattle game with an ankle injury. The team was cautious of his actual condition and immediately had Mixon have an MRI.

The results came back negative, meaning that he will only be out for a couple of days. This means good news for a running back that is yet to play an entire season of NFL football.

He has been with the Bengals since 2017. His rookie season, he notched 626 rushing yards for four rushing touchdowns. He also caught the ball 30 times for 287 receiving yards. These numbers are decent considering that he only played 14 games and started half of them.

His numbers spiked his sophomore year. He recorded 1,168 yards and eight rushing touchdowns on 237 carries. His longest carry went for 51 yards. His receiving numbers only had a slight increase despite being targeted an incredibly 55 times. He only had 296 receiving yards but was able too to convert a single receiving TD.

Bengals fans are eagerly waiting for him to have a breakout season where he'd finish the season with 1,400 rushing yards. However, the injury will stop him from playing his best. Hopefully, he can recover on time and become a solid contributor for the Bengals this game.
