The Cincinnati Bengals have officially ushered in a new era under center after taking Joe Burrow with the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. It appears his arrival has given wide receiver John Ross a boost of confidence heading into the 2020 NFL season.

According to Bleacher Report's Scott Polacek, Ross is optimistic that the Bengals are primed for a playoff run:

“Of course. I only say that out of confidence. I believe in where we’re headed as a team with some of the new additions that we have. We’re primed to make a lot of things happen.”

Ross' comments may come as a surprise considering the Bengals are in the midst of a grueling rebuild fresh off a 2-14 campaign in the 2019 NFL season. Regardless, it is encouraging to see that the team has seemingly cultivated a new sense of optimism this offseason thanks to Burrow.

Green, and former Cowboys guard Xavier Su’a as a starter up front.

The onus will fall on Ross to emerge as a consistent weapon for Burrow in the passing game He will need to find a way to provide the Bengals with some bang for his buck if he hopes to secure a lucrative long-term extension after the team declined his fifth-year option.
