Bengals' Tee Higgins gets murky injury update, with free agency looming

Higgins finishes his 2023 campaign with some disappointing numbers, snapping a two-year streak of getting more than 1,000 yards receiving. Higgins caught 42 passes in 2023, for 656 yards and five touchdowns. He's been slowed by a hamstring injury which kept him out of the lineup at times for the Bengals.

The Bengals have struggled with injuries all year, as the team has had to push forward without Joe Burrow who went down hurt. The Bengals are 8-8 on the season and can still finish with a winning record despite their struggles. The AFC North was absolutely stacked this season, with all four teams either .500 or better in their winning percentage. The Ravens, Browns and Steelers all won at least 10 games.

If Higgins doesn't return to Cincinnati, he will be expected to have suitors. Higgins had 74 receptions in 2022 for 1,029 yards and 7 touchdowns. In 2021, he finished with the same amount of receptions for 1,091 yards and six touchdowns. Higgins also had a standout game this season against the Steelers, grabbing five balls for 140 yards and a touchdown on Dec. 23. Higgins certainly left a lasting legacy in Cincinnati if he and the team ultimately decide to part ways.

The Bengals and Browns kick off at 1:00 Eastern Sunday. The Browns enter the game with a 11-5 record on the season.
