Tyler Boyd's inability to make bring in a Joe Burrow throw late in the fourth quarter came back to bite the Cincinnati Bengals in their 30-27 loss to the Houston Texans. But after the game, head coach Zac Taylor refused to zero in on one play as the reason his team lost.

After the game, Taylor said that Boyd “will put a lot on himself because it was the end of the game, but there were so many opportunities we had,” per The Cincinnati Enquirer's Charlie Goldsmith.

“A lot we could have done better” the coach emphasized.

With one minute and 42 seconds left in a game the Texans were leading 27-24, Burrow dropped back on third-and-goal from the Texans' 13-yard line. He unleashed a perfect throw to Boyd in the end zone that would've given the Bengals the lead.

But the ball bounced off Boyd's hands and fell to the turf. Cincy settled for a field goal to tie the game.

The minute and 33 seconds left on the clock were just enough time for QB C.J. Stroud. The rookie drove his team to the Bengals' 20-yard line, setting up Matt Ammendola's game-winning field goal as time expired.

It was an ugly end to an otherwise productive day for Boyd. Targeted by Burrow 12 times, the University of Pittsburgh product hauled in eight catches for 117 yards.

Unfortunately, his untimely drop will stick out in the minds of Cincinnati fans after the tough loss. In a crowded AFC playoff picture, that play could have damaging effects on the Bengals' postseason chances.

The loss dropped the Bengals to 5-4, the same record the Texans now sport after their win.
