Now that the Taylor Swift cameo rumors have been finally put to rest (as in she's NOT going to be in it), the internet has responded in the way the internet does.

Online, sometimes the love language can be (and usually is) MEMEs. So much so that corporations have jumped on the bandwagon.

Memes as the internet's love language

Case in point, Focus Features throwing their meme hat into the ring by announcing that Cate Blanchett's Lydia Tár:

And it's not just humans in on the joke. Lionsgate has also stated that Norm of the North will not be appearing in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film:

Even the WatchMojo lady has not been spared.

Taylor Swift as Dazzler or…?

Taylor Swift with question marks above her head, Lady Deadpool's legs

The pop superstar has long been rumored to make a cameo in the Marvel film. It was first rumored that she would make an appearance as Dazzler, with the mutant ability to turn sound vibrations into light and energy beams. The character is most closely associated with the X-Men and first appeared in the February 1980 issue #130 of the Uncanny X-Men.

She also had her own-self-titled series in the early '80s, lasting 42 issues, a Marvel graphic novel Dazzler: The Movie and a four-issue limited series with Beast called Beauty and the Beast. What she has not done is appear in a live-action feature.

Dazzler was originally named Disco Queen, but that was vetoed when one of the higher ups thought that “disco wouldn't last,” referring to the musical genre. Another name that was considered was Evelyn Free — which was a pun derived from the phrase “evil and free”) — for her civilian identity. Her name ended up as Alison Blaire. As it happens, Swift's middle name is also… Alison.

Alison, as Dazzler, started to make a name for herself in the music industry and used her powers to enhance her performances. Does that sound familiar?

At one of her shows, she meets the X-Men as they are under attack from the Hellfire Club. She became angry at the ruckus interrupting her show and lashes out with her powers. She ended up making one of the Hellfire members catatonic. After this, she helped the X-Men find Kitty Pryde.

Disco Queen by day, mutant superhero by night

Dazzler becomes torn between her life as a disco queen and as a part-time member of the X-Men. She realizes that while being a pop star wasn't as exciting as being a superhero, it's still a little too much so she turned down their offer to join them. However, in 2012's X-Treme X-Men, she was featured as the leader of the dimension-traveling X-Men team. Later that same year, she became a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. In 2015, she became one of the main characters of the all-female Avengers, A-Force, in Marvel's Secret Wars storyline.

In the war between the Inhumans and the X-Men, she helped Emma Frost by disguising herself as an Inhuman performer and ended up ambushing the Inhuman Black Bolt. Later on, she became one of the many mutant resident of the island nation of Krakoa.

However, in the Deadpool and Wolverine world, many Marvel fans resurrected the rumor that Swift definitely would be making a cameo in the movie due to a video which featured a few seconds of a pair of legs walking towards the camera.

Not Dazzler's legs, mind you, Lady Deadpool's legs. The internet jumped on the idea that this was most likely Swift. But others also thought that it made more logical sense if the actress who ends up playing Lady Deadpool is Deadpool's own lady, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds' wife.

Now that the rumors are finally (?) put to rest, the memes can take over.
