Why England Will Win

The English nearly won it all in the 2020 Euros. Unfortunately, they fell to Italy in the Final. But now English manager Gareth Southgate believes he has the squad to put it all together this time.

Jordan Pickford returns as the goalkeeper. Ultimately, he is one of the most consistent goalkeepers in football. Pickford had 121 saves through 14 starts for Everton. Additionally, he produced five clean sheets for England and allowed just two goals in the 2020 Euros.

The defense will be short of options. Likewise, the midfielders will need to do more to get the ball to the strikers, and the English have some of the best in the world.

Harry Kane feels more pressure than ever as he takes over as captain of the English. Amazingly, he delivered 36 goals in 32 matches for Bayern and eight goals and two assists over the qualifiers. Ollie Watkins is another threat. Overall, he had 19 goals and 13 assists over 37 matches for Aston Villa. Anthony Gordon and Cole Palmer are also elite threats. Substantially, Gordon had 11 goals and 10 assists for Newcastle, while Palmer had 22 goals and 11 assists for 33 matches for Chelsea.

Why France Will Win

Didier Deschamp believes his French squad has a solid chance. Of course, France is still reeling from the World Cup loss to Argentina. Mike Maignon from AC Milan is one of the elite goalkeepers in the world. But is he healthy? He has dealt with a thigh injury.

The defense is thin, and William Saliba must improve. Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konate of Liverpool will play alongside him. Theo Hernandez will be another option, while Jonathan Clauss will flank the other side.

While the defense is thin, the offense is exceptional. Significantly, midfielder Adrien Rabiot had five goals and three assists over 31 matches for Juventus and one goal and one assist in the qualifiers. Olivier Giroud returns for another tournament and had three goals and one assist over eight qualifiers. Likewise, Kylian Mbappe had eight goals over six qualifiers. The offense may carry them to a title.

Why Germany Will Win

Manager Julian Nagelsmann hopes 38-year-old goalkeeper Manuel Neuer can play well after nearly suffering a career-threatening injury. Then, he hopes center-back Antonio Rudiger and right-back Joshua Kimmich can lead a defense that is questionable.

Midfielder Toni Kroos came out of retirement to help the Germans. But will it be enough? Robert Andrich is another option for Germany. Meanwhile, the strikers have potential. Niclas Fullking had three goals and three assists over 13 matches for Dortmund. Likewise, he added two goals and one assist over three qualifying matches. Kai Havertz had 13 goals and seven assists over 37 matches for Arsenal and two goals in the last World Cup. Ultimately, the Germans need their midfielders and strikers to score early to give them the best chances to win matches.

Why Portugal Will Win

Roberto Martinez likes that he has one of the best goalkeepers in the world in Diogo Costa, who had 56 saves, 14 clean sheets, and 24 saves for FC Porta. Additionally, the defense is solid, with Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo leading the way. Diogo Dalot will flank the left side for Portugal.

Midfielder Bruno Fernandes is solid, as he had 10 goals and eight assists over 35 matches for Manchester United and six goals and seven assists over 10 qualifiers. Of course, who could forget about Cristiano Ronaldo? The legendary striker had 35 goals and 11 assists over 31 matches for the Saudi Pro League and 10 goals, and two assists over nine qualifiers. Subsequently, Bernardo Silva also gives Ronaldo a great running mate and a top threat after scoring three goals and four assists over nine qualifiers.

Why Spain Will Win

The Spanish have a goalkeeping controversy. Ultimately, Unai Simon is good but has not done enough to secure his job. The defense is solid, with Aymeric Laporte and Robin Le Normand protecting the castle.

But who will score? Alvaro Morata is the best option for the Spanish. Otherwise, there are not many other strikers or midfielders who pose a looming threat.

Why Italy Will Win

The defending champions had an excellent run in 2020 to win a title. But can they do it again? They need goalkeeper Gigi Donnarumma to play out of his mind again. Furthermore, they need someone to emerge as a striker. The Italians don't currently have one.

Final 2024 Euros Winner Prediction & Pick

England has been the favorite to win tournaments for what seems like forever. Yet, they failed to win it in 2020, ultimately falling to the Italians. The French are not completely healthy, and relying on Giroud as the other striker might prove to be a fallacy. Germany doesn't have the depth or the scoring threats. Meanwhile, Portugal has an elite goalkeeper and Ronaldo and Silva. They could shock the world.
