UFC Vegas 92: Edson Barboza vs. Lerone Murphy continues on the prelims with a fight in the bantamweight division between Alatengheili and Kleydson Rodrigues. Rodrigues has alternated wins and losses over his last four fights most recently coming off a submission defeat in his last fight meanwhile, Alatenheili is coming off a unanimous decision defeat in his most recent fight. Alatengheili (16-9-2) is coming off his first loss since 2020 when he dropped a decision against Chris Gutierrez in October 2023. This will be his first fight of 2024 after he had to withdraw from his fight against Victor Hugo back in April. Alatengheili will be looking to get back on track when he takes on Kleydson Rodrigues this weekend at UFC Vegas 92.
Kleydson Rodrigues (8-3) has alternated wins and losses in each of his last three fights and is now in a must-win situation after dropping his last fight against Farid Basharat in his bantamweight debut. Now, he gets to get back on track when he takes on Alatengheili this weekend at the UFC Apex.

Why Alatengheili Will Win
Alatengheili stepped in to face off against Chris Gutierrez after his scheduled fight against Rani Yahya fell through due to a Yahya injury. Things didn't go well as he was outstruck throughout the three rounds en route to a unanimous decision defeat. He will be looking to get himself back on track when he takes on Brazil's Kleydson Rodrigues this weekend at UFC Vegas 92.

Alatengheili isn't a fighter that is flashy with his style of fighting but he fights hard and gets the job done as needed. He is a well-rounded fighter who can have a striking match with his opponents and mix in the takedowns when necessary and those takedowns certainly will be necessary in this matchup against Rodrigues. Rodrigues is a fast and flashy striker who does his best work in space so it's up to Alatengheili to crowd the space, land calf kicks to slow him down, and land takedowns. If he's able to implement that game plan he can get back into the win column this weekend.
Why Kleydson Rodrigues Will Win
Kleydson Rodrigues secured his UFC contract with a dominant striking performance against Santo Curatolo but unfortunately, his UFC career has lived up to the Contender Series hype. He was on the wrong end of a very controversial split decision against CJ Vergara in his UFC debut but was then able to get back on track with a 59-second knockout of Shannon Ross missing weight in the process. Two fights where he missed weight forced the move up to 135 lbs where he is still searching for his first win in the division after dropping his first fight against Farid Basharat. Rodrigues is still searching for that win and to get back on track when he takes on Alatengheili this weekend at the UFC Apex.
Rodrigues does his best work on the feet at distance where he can utilize his speed, movement, and kicks to his advantage. Rodrigues can certainly strike circles around Alatengheili on the feet but he will need to be wary of the power that he possesses and now overextending to where he can get taken down. If Rodrigues can just stay on the outside and away from the cage he should have no problem outstriking Alatengheili throughout this fight to get back on track in a must-win fight.
Final Alatengheili-Kleydson Rodrigues Prediction & Pick
This should be a fun scrap between these bantamweight fighters. Alatengheili is very technically sound and doesn't have a ton of holes in this game. He is a brute and will be looking to walk down Rodrigues to get into boxing range to land his heavy hooks and land takedowns in the process. Meanwhile, Rodrigues is going to want to keep this fight on the feet, and for him to do that he's going to want to utilize his speed and his lateral movement to keep his back off the cage and use his kicks to keep Alatengheili at the end of his strikes.
Ultimately, Alatengheili is going to come forward and look to put the pressure on Rodrigues, especially in the small cage but it will Rodrigues who will just be way too fast for Alatengheili to corral and cut off the cage against as he just picks him apart throughout this fight and coasts to a wide unanimous decision victory.
