Charlie Morton (4-3) with a 3.91 ERA
Last Start: Morton had a good outing in his last outing, going six innings while allowing one earned run on three hits, striking out eight, and walking two in a win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
2024 Road Splits: Morton has done slightly better on the road, going 2-1 with a 3.61 ERA over six starts away from Truist Park.
Marcus Stroman (6-3) with a 3.08 ERA
Last Start: Stroman labored in his last outing, going five innings while allowing four earned runs on seven hits, striking out just three, and walking four in a loss to the Boston Red Sox.
2024 Home Splits: (1-2) with a 4.12 ERA in 39.1 innings. 38 of his 61 K's are at home.

Why The Braves Will Cover The Spread/Win
The Braves have dealt with numerous injuries this season and even lost their best player on offense and their best pitcher. Regardless, they are still the top wildcard team in the National League.
The Braves are only hitting 13th in batting average, 17th in on-base percentage, 16th in runs, and 14th in home runs. Also, they are just eighth in slugging percentage. Atlanta still has players who can make a difference.
Matt Olson is having a down season. So far, he is batting .251 with 11 home runs, 38 RBIs, and 33 runs. Austin Riley is also struggling to do much at the plate this season. Sadly, he is hitting .246 with six home runs, 28 RBIs, and 35 runs. Marcell Ozuna has been the only hot hitter from last season who is still clobbering the baseball. Amazingly, he is batting .316 with 20 home runs, 63 RBIs, and 43 runs.
The Braves are still at the top in pitching. Currently, they are eighth in pitching. Morton has done well against the Yankees in his career, going 5-3 with a 3.54 ERA over 13 games. Now, he hopes to contain a dangerous lineup before turning it over to the bullpen. The bullpen continues to be reliable. Ultimately, they are fifth in bullpen ERA.
The Braves will cover the spread if their lineup can figure out Stroman. Then, they need to avoid making mistakes against some of the most dangerous hitters in baseball.
Why The Yankees Will Cover The Spread/Win
The Yankees are the best team in the American League. Substantially, they have done everything and anything to clobber the rest of the American League and the National League. Their hitting has been solid and one of the reasons they are so successful this season.
The Yankees are seventh in batting average. Additionally, they are second in on-base percentage, runs, and home runs. New York also is third in slugging percentage. Ultimately, their hitters do everything from start to finish.
Anthony Volpe is batting .271 with six home runs, 27 RBIs, and 54 runs. Therefore, he is an important cog at the top of the lineup. Juan Soto has done well in his role behind him. Currently, he is hitting .309 with 18 home runs, 56 RBIs, and 61 runs. Aaron Judge continues to pound the baseball. So far, he is batting .306 with 27 home runs, 67 RBIs, and 58 runs. Giancarlo Stanton is still powerful but does not hit for average. Overall, he is hitting .243 with 18 home runs, 45 RBIs, and 33 runs.
The Yankees are elite on the mound. Significantly, they are third in team ERA. Stroman has done well against the Braves in his career. Significantly, he is 4-3 with a 2.61 ERA in eight games against them and will do everything he can to keep the score down before turning it over to the bullpen. The bullpen is still good but has slipped a little recently. After being the best bullpen earlier this season, they have slipped to 1oth in the league in bullpen ERA.
The Yankees will cover the spread if they can continue slugging the baseball. Then, they need a good outing from Stroman.
Final Braves-Yankees Prediction & Pick
The Braves are just 34-38 against the spread this season. Conversely, the Yankees are 45-32 against the spread. The Braves are 17-18 against the spread on the road. Meanwhile, the Yanks are 19-16 against the spread in the Bronx. The Braves are 2-3 against the spread when they have been the underdog. This is a classic rivalry between two teams who have met in the World Series twice in their history. Yet, for this one, we trust Stroman more. The Yankees cover the spread at home.
