The 2021-22 NBA season is officially underway! Two games Tuesday night and just about a full slate of games for Wednesday night. The Detroit Pistons host the Chicago Bulls in what should be an entertaining first game. It’s time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Bulls-Pistons prediction and pick based on Bulls Pistons odds.

The Bulls made a splash this offseason acquiring DeMar DeRozan and Lonzo Ball in sign-and-trade deals. They will be on the rise this season as the team already has Allstars Zach Lavine and Nikola Vucevic running the show. The Bulls will definitely be one of the teams to watch for this year.
The Pistons took Cade Cunningham with the No. 1 overall pick in this past draft. All eyes will be on the former OSU Cowboy this season. It's going to be exciting to see him take control of this franchise at a young age. Detroit will enter the season with one of the youngest rosters in the league. They likely won't be contenders this year, but you can't count anyone out before they play their first game.
Here’s how the bookmakers have set the Bulls-Pistons odds for Wednesday night’s matchup.

Chicago Bulls -5 (-110)

Detroit Pistons +5 (-110)

Over 220 (-108)

Under 220 (-112)

Why The Bulls Could Cover The Spread

The Bulls are in a position to start the season 1-0 as they travel to Detroit. Chicago's roster boosted tremendously this offseason as they brought in veteran DeRozan. It's not easy to judge a team before they play their first game yet, but the matchup against the Pistons looks favorable. The Bulls started to play really well toward the end of last season, and look to keep their momentum going in the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls could finish top five in the East this year. The roster is filled with young talent that shouldn't have a problem competing against any team. This matchup against the Pistons should go well for the Bulls. The Pistons aren't in a position to defend or score a lot of points. With that being said, the Bulls are likely to establish themselves very early in the season.

Why The Pistons Could Cover The Spread

With the spread being at where it is, it is very possible the Pistons could cover. Although, Cunningham is ruled out with an ankle injury. The Pistons' offense will run through Cunningham and Grant this season. Grant is a rising star in the NBA, but the rest of the team needs to play consistently if they want to have a real chance this season. Bulls' center Vucevic is one of the better offensive big men in the NBA, and the Pistons don't have anyone who can stop him.

With Cunningham already out, the Pistons will need to look for Grant and Killian Hayes to step up. The matchup doesn't look great against a rising Bulls team. If the Pistons are going to cover then they will need to surprise the Bulls with immense aggression. They will need to knock down shots consecutively and create turnovers on defense. The Bulls roster looks a little different so it's possible it takes a bit of time to connect.

Final Bulls-Pistons Prediction & Pick

The Bulls are likely to pull this one out and cover. With Cunningham ruled out for the Pistons, I can't see them putting up much of a fight for the entire 48 minutes. It could very well be close early, but expect the Bulls to find their groove and pull away.

FINAL BULLS-PISTONS PICK: Over 220 (-108)

FINAL SCORE PREDICTION: Bulls 120 – Pistons 106
