This should be an exciting Big-12 matchup for Tuesday night! It's time to continue our college basketball odds series with a Kansas-Oklahoma prediction and pick.
After losing to No. 25 Texas Tech, Kansas bounced back with two huge wins against pretty good teams. Kansas is now ranked No. 7 in the nation and have a tough test against unranked Oklahoma. Kansas is 14-2 and coming off a huge blowout win over West Virginia. Oklahoma is 12-5 on the season and is coming off a 1-point loss to TCU last time out. They have a big-time win over No. 11 Iowa State a few games ago which says a lot about this team. They can compete with the best in the Big-12 but they have a tough schedule coming up. Three of Oklahoma's next four games come against teams that are in the top-7 nationally.

Why Kansas Could Cover The Spread
Kansas is one of the better teams in the NCAA this season. Their only two losses came to Dayton and Texas Tech this year, so it come to good opponents. Kansas is a very good offensive team. They contain two guards who average north of 15 points per game and Ochai Agbaji averages 20.6 per game. The team as a whole average 82 points per game this year which is a very good number. They also allow just 66 points per game, so that 16-point differential is a great sign moving forward.
Article Continues BelowI actually don't think Kansas is favored by enough here. This is a team that can score a ton of points and they just scored 85 against West Virginia last time out. Oklahoma has only scored north of 80 points twice this year and it came to average opponents. Kansas can win this game on the offensive end because Oklahoma isn't going to be capable of keeping up. If Kansas scores north of 80 points, then that should be enough to cover this spread.

Why Oklahoma Could Cover The Spread
Oklahoma is the home team, but they have a tough chance of covering this spread. They contain some elite players, but they don't have the star power to keep up with Kansas. If the Jayhawks are on their game, then there won't be anything the Sooners can do. This team does defend better than Kansas, but I don't think it's going to be enough. If forward Tanner Groves and guard Umoja Gibson are on their game, then that will give them a better chance to cover this spread. I just feel like even if those two are playing well, it won't be enough to keep up. They must force turnovers and score multiple points in transition. That is going to really benefit them if they are able to force Kansas to make mistakes.
Final Kansas-Oklahoma Prediction & Pick
Neither team is good against the spread this year. Kansas is 8-8 and OU is 8-9. Despite that, I like Kansas to cover this spread on the road. It's a rather small spread and so I think it should be a no-brainer to take the Jayhawks in this one.
Final Kansas-Oklahoma Prediction & Pick: Kansas -3.5 (-114)
