England will not be happy about their tournament opening game against Serbia. They expected to roll over this group on the way to the knockout stage, but Serbia gave them everything they could handle in a 1-0 victory. The good news for England is that Serbia should be their toughest test.

Why Denmark Will Win
There are a lot of questions surrounding England after their opening match. Most pundits expected them to dominate Serbia, but the opposite occurred. The game was pretty even in possession, and Serbia out-chanced England 6-5. Serbia plays a high-event strategy, which seemed to confuse England and may be the only question about Denmark's chances in this game.
It's hard to see Denmark playing that style well enough against England to stay in the game. They'll need to play their game and hope England makes one or two mistakes to steal a victory.
Why England Will Win
Denmark is a better team when their opponents are playing passively and they can play with a lot more possession. Just because they play better, doesn't mean it's a perfect formula, as Denmark controlled their tournament opener but still only managed to get a 1-1 draw. It would always be much harder for Denmark against teams like England and Serbia.
Set pieces are one of Denmark's biggest strengths, as they get the second-most shots off set pieces in the field. However, England is the best defensive team in the tournament and allowed the fewest shots per set piece in qualifying.
One of Denmark's strengths is pressing to kickstart a counterattack when they lose the ball. England also has an answer for them in this area, as they allowed the sixth-fewest shots off counterattacks.

England can contend with most of Denmark's strengths. Denmark can be successful with teams playing passively since they can exploit them on the counterattack. When teams like England take the field with them, they can't generate scoring chances nearly as much.
The issue for Denmark is they barely have any success against the passive teams. They are long removed from their trip to the semifinals of Euro 2021, as they only tied Slovenia in the opening game and lost to teams like Kazakhstan and Northern Ireland.
Denmark gets too much credit for past successes. England can't be happy with their performance against Serbia, and this could be a game where they run away with the victory to prove a point. The narrative around England will be that they are losing form in a significant tournament again, and it'll be up to them to prove everyone wrong.
