The Ivy League championship odds did not get shaken up on Saturday. The Ivy League doesn't have a full conference tournament, but the league did cave to pressure a few years ago by using a four-team, three-game format to provide a measure of March Madness flavor which spiced things up for college basketball odds watchers.
Saturday's semifinals were both close. Princeton overcame Cornell in the first game, and Yale fended off Pennsylvania in the second game. The teams which battled all season long for a top-four placement and the right to play their way into the NCAA Tournament were unsurprisingly on even terms in the semifinals. If you are thinking about a Yale Princeton prediction, you will want to file away that particular point.
The Princeton Tigers have forged a number of second-half comebacks this season. They have shown an ability to respond to early-game deficits with the resilience and resourcefulness of a team which has risen to the top of its conference. On Saturday, though, Princeton didn't dig a big hole; it took a big lead and then blew it before regrouping to outlast Cornell in Game 1 of Saturday's semifinal doubleheader.
Yale, which outpaced Penn in Game 2 on Saturday, was the regular-season Ivy League champion in 2020, before the conference canceled its 2021 season due to the pandemic. The Bulldogs won the 2019 Ivy League four-team playoff. This is the program which has established itself as the team others have to go through in order to win the Ivy League. That kind of reputation matters in March. Princeton and the rest of the Ivy know that Yale has made itself a very tough out in supremely consequential ballgames. Princeton used to be the big cheese in the Ivy League, for anyone thinking about a Yale Princeton pick. The Tigers roared under legendary coach Pete Carrill in the 1990s, but Penn, Cornell, and Harvard rose to the top of the league earlier this century. Princeton now has a chance to reclaim Ivy League supremacy, and that will be a driver for the Tigers in this championship battle.

Why Yale Could Cover the Spread
The Bulldogs know they can come through in big moments because they are the team which carried the banner for the Ivy League in recent years, before the 2021 season was wiped away. If this game gets tight, expect Yale to make winning plays.
Why Princeton Could Cover the Spread
The Tigers have waited five years to get back to the Ivy League victory stand. They survived a Cornell rally on Saturday and will be more relaxed and prepared for this game as a result. Teams which get a reprieve in one game often come out strong the next day.
Final Yale-Princeton Prediction & Pick
Princeton might win, but this game is going to be extremely close, probably a one-possession game. That point alone makes it easier to lean to the team which is getting 3.5 points.
Final Yale-Princeton Pick: Yale +3.5
