The Bryant Bulldogs had a very close shave in the NEC Tournament. They trailed Mount Saint Mary's for a considerable portion of the NEC semifinals, but they rallied late and pulled out a one-point victory. Bryant was the team with a target on its back after winning the regular-season NEC title and getting the top seed in the conference tournament. After winning that Houdini game against Mount Saint Mary's — it was a great escape — the Bulldogs were liberated in the championship game against second-seeded Wagner, the team which battled Bryant for the conference crown all season long. March Madness odds analysts will take note that Bryant blasted Wagner by 27 points in the NEC final to win the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Bryant led by more than 30 points in that game, completely shutting down the Wagner offense. It is something to take note of when developing your Bryant Wright State pick.
The Wright State Raiders were not the top seed in their conference tournament. Coach Scott Nagy's team was the fourth seed in the Horizon League Tournament. After a smooth ride in the quarterfinals, Wright State faced a defining challenge in the semifinals, going up against the No. 1 seed, Cleveland State. It figured to be a dogfight down to the wire, but Wright State seized control of the game and delivered a commanding 15-point victory to advance to the final, where Northern Kentucky awaited. Northern Kentucky grabbed a 14-point lead midway through the second half, and Wright State was facing the end of its season. The Raiders were unlikely to be awarded a bid to the NIT had they lost.
They didn't.
Wright State rallied to claim a 72-71 win and a ticket to the NCAA Tournament. The comeback was an epic March moment, and the kind of death-to-life resurrection which changes a team's mindset heading into a First Four game in Dayton. Consider that when making your Bryant Wright State prediction.

The Raiders' comeback from a massive deficit late in their conference tournament championship game creates the sense that no level of adversity — no matter how high or severe — can prevent this team from doing what it believes it can do. That's a powerful thing in March.

Both teams have compelling arguments to make, but the sense here is that after coming back to win its conference tournament in the championship game, Wright State will withstand Bryant's foremost forays a little bit better.
