Duke and CSU-Fullerton are set to face off in the first round of the March Madness tournament! It's time to continue our march madness odds series with a Fullerton-Duke prediction and pick.
Cal State University Fullerton won the Big West Conference Championship to earn an automatic bid for the Big Dance! Fullerton ended the year (21-10) and have one of their biggest games in school history in front of them. As for the Blue Devils, they lost in the ACC Championship to Virginia Tech. Duke is a No. 2 seed and ended the season (28-6). Coach Krzyzewski will be coaching in his final tournament, so you know the Blue Devils will be playing for him Friday night.

Why CSU-Fullerton Could Cover The Spread
This spread is very high, so Fullerton has a chance to cover this spread. As for winning this game, I don't think they have much of a chance. Duke has a lot to play for right now to lose this game. Fullerton is led by forward E.J. Anosike who averages 16.5 points per game for the Titans. Damari Milstead averages 12 points as those two are really the only scoring threats for the Titans. Those two will have to be on their game if they want to cover this spread. On the defensive end, they have a tough task as they need to contain a ton of scoring threats. Duke has five players who average double-digits and all five are capable of taking over a game. It's going to take Fullerton's best game of the season to get the job done.

Why Duke Could Cover The Spread
Duke is known for losing games they shouldn't be losing in the tournament. This year feels different, however. Duke defeated No. 1 overall seed Gonzaga earlier in the season. At that time, many predicted Duke to be the top team in the nation altogether. Now, they are a 2-seed and have a chance to go deep into the tournament.
Coach K will be who they are playing for, and losing in the first round to a far worse team would not be the way he wants to go out. I don't think the players would let that happen either. Paolo Banchero leads the team with 17 points per game. It will be on him to lead the team and make sure that the Titans don't keep it close. This is a large spread, so Duke will have to be on their game and playing to the level we expect them to in order to cover.

Final Fullerton-Duke Prediction & Pick
Duke will win this game. Everyone who is waiting for them to be upset will have to wait until at least the round of 32 for that to happen. However, this spread is huge and Fullerton has a real chance to cover. Tennesee is currently beating Longwood by 30 as I type this, so Duke still has a good shot of winning by at least 19 tomorrow night.
