The Seattle Mariners start their interleague series with the Washington Nationals on Friday. It is time to continue our MLB odds series with a Mariners-Nationals prediction and pick.
The Mariners will enter the series first in the AL West. They must finish their series in New York with the Yankees before heading to Washington DC to face the Nationals. The Mariners will be sending Luis Castillo to the mound in that one. He is 4-5 on the year with a 3.28 ERA. The Nationals will be off on Thursday and have struggled as of late. They are in third in the NL East currently but have lost seven of their last eight games overall.

He also has nine runs scored.
CJ Abrams leads the team in home runs this year. He is hitting .257 on the year with a .312 on-base percentage. He has nine doubles, four triples, and seven home runs, leading to 21 RBIs. Abrams has scored 29 times as well. Meanwhile, Jacob Young has been solid this year. He is hitting .275 on the year with a .333 on-base percentage. He has seven doubles and 11 RBIs. Young has also stolen 15 bases and scored 23 times.

The Nationals are sitting in third place in their division, well behind the Braves and Phillies, and ahead of the Mets and Marlins. This should be where the Nationals end up too. They are a middle-of-the-road team with the ability to go on runs and win large chunks of games. They are in a valley right now though, struggling to get wins. The Mariners are not a good offense, but the pitching has made up for that. They have pitched very well, and the Nationals do not have the offense to overcome that.
