This should be an exciting Eastern Conference matchup tonight! It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Hawks-Bulls prediction and pick.
This has the makings of being a very high-scoring affair. The Atlanta Hawks are (28-30) on the season and will take on the (38-21) Chicago Bulls. Atlanta is currently ninth in the East and the Bulls are second but own the same record as the first-place Miami Heat. This will be a battle between Trae Young and DeMar DeRozan who are two of the league's best offensive players this season. The Bulls have won five straight and the Hawks have won their last two games.

Why The Hawks Could Cover The Spread

Trae Young will need to be on his game tonight if the Hawks want to upset the Bulls. They come in as the underdogs tonight which is the right call. It's not a big spread at all so the oddsmakers seem to think this will be a tight game. If that is the case, then expect the Hawks' offense to be rolling tonight as the Bulls' defense has been allowing 116 points per game over their last 10. The Hawks' offense has been averaging exactly 116 points in their last 10 games so that will benefit them tonight. John Collins started to get going before the break and he should be a factor here tonight as well.
Atlanta needs to defend DeRozan to the best of their abilities tonight because he is one of the top-scoring options this season and is establishing himself as an MVP candidate right now. Zach Lavine is set to play for the Bulls as well so the Hawks will have a lot on their plate for tonight.
Why The Bulls Could Cover The Spread
With Lavine coming back and set to play, the Bulls will get healthier and have a chance to keep their winning streak intact. Coby White has stepped up in Lavine and Lonzo Ball's absence and has is now averaging 14 points and just under three assists on the season. If White continues to play well then the Bulls should keep winning games. Nikola Vucevic is one of the top offensive centers in the game averaging 18 points per game. He does his part each night alongside DeRozan so the Bulls have nothing to worry about with them. As long as White and Alex Caruso are on their game, the Bulls are just about unstoppable.
They are going to have a fit defending Trae Young tonight, but if they do so then they will cover this spread pretty easily. I expect the Hawks' offense to be on their game with the poor play for the Bulls' defensive efforts. We will see if that is enough to upset the Bulls tonight, however.
Final Hawks-Bulls Prediction & Pick
Atlanta is (26-32) against the spread and the Bulls are (35-23-1). The Bulls have the edge tonight and they are likely to win this game at home. The Bulls are (23-8) at home while the Hawks are (11-17) on the road. Hammer the Bulls tonight even though Trae Young will likely go off for 40 points to keep them in it.
Final Hawks-Bulls Prediction & Pick: Bulls -3.5 (-110)
