The Atlanta Hawks are a better team than their record suggests. They may only be 4-6, but they have been a competitive team. Atlanta is coming off a four point loss to Phoenix, but will look to bounce back on Monday night. The Hawks have had a much tougher schedule than the Warriors and have faced some of the best teams in the league. Golden State, on the other hand, has had a very easy schedule and hasn't really been tested. Atlanta will come out on Monday ready to give the Warriors their toughest game so far.

Leading this Hawks team is NBA superstar, Trae Young. Trae Young has quickly become one of the most feared offensive weapons in the NBA. He can hit shots from anywhere on the court and defenders never know when he might just pull up and shoot. He had 31 points and 13 assists in the Hawks loss to the Suns and will look to continue his high level of play on Monday. Ice Trae is having a great season and will certainly be an important factor in Monday's match up. Expect the fourth year guard to have a big night in Golden State.

Another huge part of this Hawks team is John Collins. The fifth year big man is coming off one of his best games of the season. Against Phoenix, Collins dropped 26 points and snatched 10 boards. If JC is able to continue this level of production then the Hawks could get a win. Atlanta is looking to be the second team this season to beat the Warriors and they have the talent to do it. With Trae Young and John Collins leading the way, Hawks fans should be excited for Monday's game and ready for some great basketball.

Why The Warriors Could Cover The Spread

The Warriors couldn't have asked for a better start to the season. Through nine games they have eight wins and their only loss came in over time against Memphis by two. This Warriors team came to play this year and has hopes of making a deep playoff run. They are coming off a 13 point victory over the Houston Rockets. It is true that this Warriors team has faced very little serious competition. Golden State will be tested on Monday night and need to prove why they deserve to be at the top of the West.

The face and leader of the Warriors is Steph Curry. The entire offense runs through Curry and he has been having a great season. Curry has drawn a lot of attention from defenders and still manages to average 25 points 6 rebounds and 6 assists a game. Without Curry this Warriors team would not be nearly as successful. The Steph Curry – Trae Young matchup has been highly anticipated and fans will get to see these premiere scorers battle it out. Curry will look to prove why he's still the best shooter in the league and out duel the up and coming star.

In Klay Thompson's absence Jordan Poole has emerged as a great player. Poole is coming off a 25 point performance against Houston and will look to carry that momentum into Monday's game. With Thompson out due to injury, Poole has gotten the opportunity to play significant minutes and impact this team. The third year guard is averaging over 18 points a game and has exceeded all expectations. Get ready for Jordan Poole to come out firing against Atlanta and to add to an already great season.

Final Hawks-Warriors Prediction & Pick

This is a pretty tough decision. If you just look at the records an the line then the Warriors seem like the logical pick, but you need to dig deeper. Golden State hasn't faced real tough competition this season. The Warriors 8-1 record isn't an accurate representation of this team. The Hawks, on the other hand, have had to play against some really tough opponents. The over isn't a bad pick here, even with such a lofty total these two teams are more than capable of outscoring it. With all that said, the Warriors have managed to dominate their weaker opponents by a large margin and they should be able to get a win at home against the Hawks. Pick the Warriors to win and cover.
