The Sacramento Kings head to San Antonio to take on the Spurs. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Kings-Spurs prediction and pick.

FanDuel Evergreen Promo

The Kings are coming off a 30-point loss to the New Orleans Pelicans last time out. It's been yet another miserable season for this franchise as they just can't seem to put together a winning season. They are (23-41) on the year and will likely miss the playoffs once again unless they somehow go on a winning streak. The Kings, however, are four games away from the 10th seed which would give them a play-in opportunity. They need to start winning now

As for the San Antonio Spurs, they are two games away from a play-in opportunity with a (24-38) record. They are one seed above the Kings which means this isn't much of a game to pay attention to. The Spurs are coming off a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies where Ja Morant scored 52 points in the win. If you are considering betting on this game, then let's get to this prediction and pick.

Why The Kings Could Cover The Spread

Article Continues Below

Domantas Sabonis is averaging 18 points, 13.3 rebounds, and six assists with the Kings in his eight games there. The problem is that they have only won three of those games and the losses were mostly blowouts. The Kings are getting the value from Sabonis, they just aren't seeing the rest of the squad step up. De'Aaron Fox continues to play well averaging 22 points and 5.3 assists, but it's not paying off for the Kings. If the Kings are to cover this spread, they need everyone outside of those two to help keep them in games.

The Kings are a perfect example of the fact that if you don't have a good bench or role players, then the stars can't help you succeed. Sacramento will also need to make sure Dejounte Murray is slowed down because he's playing well this season averaging 20 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 9.4 assists. He's one of the best young all-around guards in the NBA.

Why The Spurs Could Cover The Spread

The good news for the Spurs right now is that they are healthy as they can get. Doug McDermott is the only one on the injury report with knee sourness and he is questionable for tonight. They will need everyone to help take the load off of Murray, whose been their top guy all season long. The Spurs come into this game as the favorites as home and that is the right call. This is a large spread but the Spurs have been one of the better teams against the spread all season. They are (32-29-1) compared to the Kings who are (29-35).

This current spread will force the Spurs to win by at least seven points which seems doable. Neither side is good in this situation, the Spurs are just (11-18) at home whereas the Kings are (8-23) on the road. This game has little to no value so if you are going to bet on it, you must know something many people don't.

Final Kings-Spurs Prediction & Pick

Both teams are coming off of a loss so that makes it even tougher to choose. The Spurs are better ATS so I will have to assume they will get the job done tonight. Take San Antonio to cover as the Kings are also coming off a 30-point loss.

Final Kings-Spurs Pick: Spurs -6.5 (-114)
