The Kings are on fire, winning five straight games as they sit 11th in a tough Western Conference with a record of 22-25. Meanwhile, the Spurs have been struggling as of late, winning four of their last 10 games–though they are still eighth in the West with a record of 23-21.

Sacramento Kings +2.5 (-110)

San Antonio Spurs -2.5 (-110)

Under 231 Points(-110)

Why The Kings Could Cover The Spread

De'Aaron Fox, Kings

The Kings are on a hot-streak because of the offensive performance of their star player, De'Aaron Fox.

The team currently holds the 11th-best offensive rating in the NBA behind the performance of Fox on a night-to-night basis. Fox has been putting up 23.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 7.2 assists while shooting a very efficient 48.6 percent from the field and 33.2 percent from behind the 3-point line.

The other starters on the team have also all been contributing double-digit points per game with all shooting nearly 40 percent and above from the field.

With Marvin Bagley out due to injury, the Kings have been able to find players to step up like their rookie Tyrese Haliburton, who has been averaging 13.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists. Not to mention, SacTown also added Delon Wright, Terence Davis and Maurice Harkless for more production off the bench on both the defensive and offensive end of the floor.

These new additions could be the reason for the Kings' recent hot streak, though they still struggle on the defensive end of the floor and are still dead last in defensive rating in the NBA.

That said, the problem for the Kings against the Spurs is not on the offensive end of the floor but rather on the defensive end, especially when playing a well-balanced team where any player can catch fire at any moment of the game. If Sacramento can bring some intensity to their defense and in particular slow down DeMar DeRozan and Dejounte Murray, they will have a great shot to cover the spread.

Why The Spurs Could Cover The Spread

DeMar DeRozan, Spurs

The Spurs haven't been playing great basketball as of late, and that could be attributed to losing LaMarcus Aldridge.

In the first match of the two-game set against the Kings, DeRozan scored just 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field. Overall, the San Antonio had just five players score in double digits, headed by their backcourt duo in Dejounte Murray (23 points) and Derrick White (19).

Disregarding the Spurs' poor offensive showing, the team also gave up a total of 132 points to the Kings and allowed three players to score 20-plus points.

For the Spurs to cover the spread, the team will need to work collectively on slowing down Fox, who basically runs the entire Kings offense. San Antonio will also need a better offensive performance from DeRozan.

Final Kings-Spurs Prediction & Pick

The Kings showed their offensive prowess Monday night when they defeated the Spurs. The Kings had seven players score in double digits, with three players scoring more than 20 points.

The Spurs, on the other hand, struggled to find offense from DeRozan and players off the bench. Not to mention that they also had a terrible defensive showing against the Kings. This game seemed to be an outlier for the San Antonio though, as they are Top 10 in defensive rating and DeRozan is a better offensive player than the player that showed up earlier in the week.

If the Spurs can get back to their normal performance on Wednesday, they should be able to pick up a much needed team win against the Kings.
