The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors will battle in a Western Conference preseason matchup on Friday night. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Lakers-Warriors prediction and pick.

The Lakers and Warriors will play Friday night in what will be a rematch of a Western Conference play-in game between the two teams earlier this year. The Lakers obviously won that matchup, and went on to the NBA playoffs. The Warriors are looking to get back to the postseason after a couple of injury-plagued seasons. Steph Curry looks on track to play, while LeBron James is listed as out for Friday's contest.

Here's how the bookmakers have set the Lakers-Warriors odds for this Friday matchup.

NBA Odds: Lakers-Warriors Odds

Los Angeles Lakers +2.5  (-105)

Golden State Warriors -2.5 (-115)

Over 223.5 points (-110)

Under 223.5 points (-110)

Why The Lakers Can Cover The Spread

The Lakers will presumably still have Anthony Davis, though James and Russell Westbrook are set to sit out Friday night's game vs. Golden State. The preseason is a strange space, but there is a path for Los Angeles to cover without two of their star players. Carmelo Anthony will look to find his role on the Lakers alongside Davis, Rajon Rondo, Talen Horton-Tucker and the rest of 2021-22 Lakers team that assuredly has championship aspirations. The Lakers will be at a slight disadvantage without some of their high caliber vets, but they may be able to remain competitive with their depth.

James, Westbrook, Dwight Howard and Trevor Ariza will miss Friday night's game. While James, Westbrook and Howard are likely just resting as long-time veterans who don't get much out of the preseason anyways, Ariza has been ruled out for at least eight weeks due to recently undergoing ankle surgery.

Why The Warriors Can Cover The Spread

Having Curry and Draymond Green on the floor is a good start to a cover vs. a Lakers rotation that will not feature some key names. The Warriors have some names out in their own right, however. Gary Payton II, James Wiseman, Jonathon Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins, Andre Iguodala and Klay Thompson will all miss Friday night's contest vs. the Lakers. The Warriors will rely on their healthy guys Friday evening, and should be in decent shape depth wise with the extra roster spots the NBA allots during the preseason/training camp period of the season. The Warriors will be in good shape to cover if Curry and Green play regular minutes, if not (very possible in preseason) the game becomes more of a toss up.

Final Lakers-Warriors Prediction & Pick

This game could get a bit sloppy with all of the key names already ruled out. With it being preseason, the big names that are playing may not play regular minutes. Take the under, as 223 points could be a lot to expect for a game that could feature big minutes from not so notable names on these preseason rosters.

FINAL LAKERS-WARRIORS PREDICTION & PICK: Under 223.5 (-110)
