The NBA continues on Wednesday night. The Dallas Mavericks will travel and take on the Chicago Bulls. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Mavericks-Bulls prediction and pick.
Both of these teams have had great starts to the season. The Dallas Mavericks have a record of 7-3 and are coming off of a dominant win. The Chicago Bulls are also 7-3 and also just notched a big win. This should be one of, if not the best game on Wednesday.

Why The Mavericks Could Cover The Spread
The Dallas Mavericks are a great team. They have legitimate playoff hopes and a win against one of the hottest teams in the NBA would go a long way. Dallas is on a three game win streak. The Mavs won their last game against New Orleans by 16. They will look to carry that momentum into Wednesday's game. They are hitting the road after a two game home stretch. Expect Dallas to come out firing and to give this game everything they've got.
Leading the way for the Dallas Mavericks is NBA superstar, Luka Doncic. Doncic has quickly become one of the best players in the NBA. He can do everything and he does. Luka is coming off a solid game against New Orleans where he dropped 25 points and had 5 rebounds and 5 assists. This is nothing unusual from the fourth year guard. Luka is averaging 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists a game. If Doncic can get going then the Bulls will have a tough time keeping up. Chicago doesn't have anyone of Luka's caliber and the Mavs will look to use that against them.
By Luka's side is Kristaps Porzingis. The unicorn has finally returned to action after missing five games. His impact for the Mavs is huge. When Porzingis is on the floor defenders are stretched much more thinly and it opens things up for the entire offense. The big man is coming off a 12 point 8 rebound outing, but will look to pick things up on Wednesday. He is slowly getting back into the swing of things, but once he finds his groove then the Mavs will really take off. Look for Porzingis to step up and make progress returning to prior form.
Why The Bulls Could Cover The Spread
The Bulls are one of the best teams in the NBA. No one saw that coming. Their success was unpredictable, but they have shown time and time again that they can compete and win against some of the best teams in the league. Chicago is coming off a 23 point victory against the Nets. That is arguably their biggest win of the season. This Bulls team showed that when they come together not even a top team in the league can stop them. The Bulls will look to carry that momentum into a tough Wednesday night matchup.
DeMar DeRozan has been absolutely balling for this Bulls team. This offseason acquisition appears to have been one of, if not the best in the league. DeRozan is averaging 27 points a game and has been instant offense for the Bulls. He complements LaVine super well and has been a great second half to the duo. DeRozan is coming off a 28 point game against Brooklyn. On top of that, he has dropped over 30 points in three games this season. If DeMar gets going against Dallas then the Bulls should be able to run away with this one.
While DeMar has been a great addition to the team, the leader and face of the Bulls is still Zach LaVine. DeMar has relieved some of the scoring pressure off of LaVine, but the eighth year guard is still more than capable of putting up big numbers. LaVine is coming off a 24 point game against Brooklyn and is averaging 26 points a game this season. He is a huge part of this Bulls team and having DeMar by his side has only elevated the level of play and success of Chicago. Expect LaVine to keep up his productivity and for the Bulls to have a big game against Dallas.
Final Mavericks-Bulls Prediction & Pick
This should be the best game on Wednesday. Both of these teams have legitimate playoff ambitions and it should be a great battle. With that said, the Chicago Bulls are one of the hottest teams in the league right now. They just dismantled the Nets and will be carrying that momentum into this game. The Mavericks are a great team but it seems like they will likely fall short against Chicago. The over isn't a bad option here either since both these teams put up big numbers, but stick with Chicago. Pick the Bulls to win and cover an get ready for a great game.
