The Boston Celtics host the Brooklyn Nets in an Eastern Conference showdown on Wednesday night. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Nets-Celtics prediction and pick.
Both the Celtics and Nets enter Wednesday's clash enjoying three-game win streaks. Boston is coming off wins against the Lakers, Thunder, and Rockets, and will look to make it a clean sweep of their four-game homestand with a victory over the rival Nets as they claw back up the standings.
As for Brooklyn, Steve Nash's squad has rallied since their humbling defeat against the Golden State Warriors. They've since picked up wins over the Cavaliers (twice) and the Magic. Already in first in the Eastern Conference, the 13-5 Nets could extend their lead over Miami and Chicago with a win on Wednesday.

Why The Nets Can Cover The Spread
The Nets have arguably the NBA's best duo in James Harden and Kevin Durant, a lethal combination who have combined for 51.2 points per game throughout the month of November. Durant's 28.5 points per game lead the NBA this season and Brooklyn will lean upon him heavily for scoring production as they usually do.
Additionally, James Harden has been finding his way back to the free-throw line in recent games, having recorded double-digit free-throw attempts in four of his previous six outings. When he's able to get to the line at will, the Nets offense reaches a new level of lethal. There's not a single game that Brooklyn doesn't have the potential to win, but they'll have to be on their A-game to leave with a win at TD Garden.
Why The Celtics Can Cover The Spread
The Celtics' three-game win streak should come as no surprise to fans. The team is finally started to gel under head coach Ime Udoka, and with Jaylen Brown back in the fold, the Celtics are almost at full strength. While Brooklyn's superstar tandem can score in bunches, Boston is equally well-equipped with the duo of Brown and Jayson Tatum. The two combine to average 50.6 points per game this season and will look to translate that into wins now that Brown has returned from the hamstring injury that sidelined him for eight games.
This is a Celtics team that is playing its best basketball of the season right now and they will be looking to make a statement against Brooklyn as they surge back up the standings. Both teams are hot, but with Boston playing on their home court, they will have the advantage they need to keep things tight.
