These two teams have had somewhat different seasons so far. The Denver Nuggets have been a competitive team and are coming off three straight wins. While the Sacramento Kings have struggled to win games and are coming off back-to-back losses. This should be a lopsided match between two teams trending in opposite directions.

Why The Nuggets Could Cover The Spread

The Denver Nuggets have had a very solid season. They have faced lots of adversity in the form of injuries and COVID absences, yet through it all, they have come out on top. Through their first 65 games, they have secured a winning record of 39-26. Their most recent win was a seven-point victory over the Golden State Warriors. While the Warriors were far from full health, a win is a win. Denver will look to build on their recent wins and a victory over the Kings to the list. The Nuggets are the better team in this matchup and if they play up to their abilities then they should have no problem coming out on top.

Nikola Jokic is the clear leader and face of the Denver Nuggets. In their win over the Warriors, the big man had 32 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists. In the game prior, he had 42 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. Jokic has been dominant this season, and when he has a good game the Nuggets usually end up winning. However, a big part of the success of this team has come from the support that Jokic has gotten. While he may lead the charge, the rest of the team contributes more than their fair share. The Nuggets seem to have figured out the balance and it is showing.

This Nuggets team has managed to salvage a season that has been plagued with injuries. Denver has had it as bad, if not worse, than the rest of the league. Currently, the Nuggets have six players listed on their injury report. Two of the injured players are listed as probable, and one is listed as questionable. However, even with the injuries, Denver has shown that they can compete. Expect the Nuggets to come out strong in this match.

Why The Kings Could Cover The Spread

The Sacramento Kings have had a very underwhelming season. Through their first 67 games, they have a disappointing record of 24-43. The Kings have failed to look competitive and have just struggled. They are coming off back-to-back losses, with their most recent defeat coming against the Knicks by 16. Sacramento will look to turn things around on Wednesday in another tough match. They may be underdogs but they could still pull off the upset. The Kings just need to step up and start competing.

Sacramento was in control during the first half against the Knicks. The Kings had a 15 point lead going into the third quarter, but they squandered it. They allowed the Knicks to make a push and take over in the second half. This has been a persistent problem for the Kings. In their loss to the Mavericks, they had a lead going into the second half but lost control. The Kings need to start playing four quarters of basketball. They put themselves in a position to win, but fizzle out. If they can play up to their abilities for four quarters they will be much more competitive.

Injuries also play a factor for this team. The Kings currently have four players listed on their injury report. Of those players, both Jeremy Lamb and Maurice Harkless are listed as questionable. Richaun Holmes is still out. These are important players for the Kings and if they all miss Wednesday's game it will be tough for Sacramento to compete. Hopefully, for the Kings, at least one or two of their questionable players will take the court on Wednesday, Sacramento can use all the help they can get.

Final Nuggets-Kings Prediction & Pick

The Nuggets are definitely the better team here. The spread is a bit wide, but it is still tough to side with Sacramento. The Kings have not shown signs of competitiveness and the Nuggets are actually motivated to win these games. On top of that, the Kings may be missing some key players for this match. Given all of this, pick the Denver Nuggets to win and cover and get ready for what should be a dominant victory.
