The Golden State Warriors look to bounce back at home tonight against the Denver Nuggets after coming off of a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. It’s time to continue our NBA odds series with a Nuggets-Warriors prediction and pick.

The Warriors sit in a comfortable second place in the West, 5.5 games back from the Phoenix Suns. The Nuggets head to the Bay Area tonight after winning on Monday at home against the Orlando Magic, giving them a small two-game win streak. They currently sit in sixth place in the West, chasing the Dallas Mavericks from 2.5 games back.

Why The Nuggets Can Cover The Spread

Denver's reigning MVP center, Nikola Jokic, did what he normally does as he posted a double-double in Monday's win against the Magic. He continues to carry a heavy load while Jamal Murray (ACL) and Michael Porter Jr. (back) remain out. But that doesn't stop Jokic as he's averaging 25.8 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game. Stopping him will be the Warrior's number one priority, but he's been dealing with that all season long. The Nuggets have also covered the spread in five of their last six games on the road while the Warriors have failed to cover the spread in four of their last five home games. As long as Denver can limit the all so elusive three-ball from Golden State, the Nuggets have a good opportunity to cover 5.5 points tonight.

Why The Warriors Can Cover The Spread

To say the Warriors underachieved in Monday's loss to the Clippers would be an understatement. Klay Thompson had just seven points while shooting just 3-14. He and Steph Curry are still trying to get their rhythm back after roughly two and a half years of injury issues for Thompson. But with that said, they're both known to not be scared to chuck the ball up at any opportunity they get and drain three-pointers. All-Star Andrew Wiggins gets overshadowed by the Splash Brothers, but the Nuggets can't forget about him tonight too.

While Golden State is known for their offense, they actually have one of the best defensive games in the league, which promptly puts them in second place in the West. Any team that plays against the former MVP Nikola Jokic prioritizes him over anybody else, which is understandable. If the Warriors can limit his success, they have a very high chance of covering the measly 5.5-point spread at home tonight.

Final Nuggets-Warriors Prediction & Pick

The Warriors have been dominant all season, regardless of any minor hiccups that they've recently experienced, especially at home. Golden State is 26-5 at home, while Denver is 16-15 on the road. That's a pretty big difference that I'd be willing the bet on. I think the Splash Brothers come out to play tonight after putting up an embarrassing loss to the Clippers in their last game. It's not going to be an easy feat, but I'll be looking for the Warriors to cover 5.5 points tonight.

Final Nuggets-Warriors Prediction & Pick: Warriors -5.5 (-110)
