The Phoenix Suns will play the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday in a Western Conference matchup. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Suns-Blazers prediction and pick.
The Suns and Blazers will meet on Tuesday as Phoenix looks to stay hot and keep pace with the Golden State Warriors out west. The Suns have been able to continue winning while Devin Booker has been out with a hamstring strain, as they are 21-5 this season. Phoenix comes into play Tuesday just .5 games back of the Warriors for the No. 1 seed in the West. Portland on the other hand is on a five-game losing streak as they continue to play without guard CJ McCollum. The Suns will be on a back-to-back after losing to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night, so the come in as just slight favorites over the Blazers in this one.
Here is how FanDuel has set the Suns-Blazers odds for this Tuesday NBA matchup.
NBA Odds: Suns-Blazers Odds
Phoenix Suns -1.5 (-110)
Portland Trail Blazers +1.5 (-110)
Over 219 (-110)
Under 219 (-110)

Article Continues BelowWhy The Suns Could Cover The Spread
Chris Paul is leading the way even more than usual for the Suns in Booker's absence. On the back-to-back, however, it will be interesting to see what the Suns do with Paul. As one of the final members of the 2005 NBA Draft class still in the NBA, the Suns could choose to rest their star point guard as they cannot afford him to be banged up with Booker already out. If Paul suits up, and we have no reason other than the back-to-back to believe he would not, then the Suns are in a good position to win this game. The entire Suns injury report will be something to look out for Tuesday evening as it has not yet been submitted as of Tuesday morning. If Phoenix runs out their healthy regulars, they will be the better team on the floor vs. Portland. How much they left in the tank and who all ultimately plays leads the Suns to being just slight favorites over the Blazers in this one.
Phoenix is 9-3 on the road this season and 13-13 vs. the spread overall.
Why The Blazers Could Cover The Spread
Portland will be looking to snap their five-game losing streak on Tuesday. They will have a rest advantage in this one, but that might be their only edge. The Suns are the more complete and better team even without one of their stars being out. The Blazers have a star guard out on their own right, and were without Damian Lillard some recently as well. Portland is 10-5 at home this season, so this might be a spot where they are of some value as underdogs. The rest thing could prove to be real as well, as the Suns have been playing at a high level ever since the beginning of their win streak. They may be due to come back down to earth for a week or two. Portland is sneaky play here, but it is still somewhat difficult to trust them as losers of their last five games.
The Blazers are 10-17 against the spread this season.
Final Suns-Blazers Prediction & Pick
Once the final injury report comes out, the Suns should be a good pick to cover and win assuming their regulars play. If Paul and/or others are ruled out, Portland may end up being favored in this one by tip-off.
Final Suns-Blazers prediction & pick: Suns -1.5 (-110)
