Why The Timberwolves Could Cover The Spread
The Minnesota Timberwolves started off this season great, but have since fallen into a slump. Minnesota has lost their last four games. Their last game they lost by 20 to the Clippers. It has been a rough stretch for the Wolves but they will look to turn things around against a vulnerable Grizzlies team. Minnesota has a talented roster but some injuries and lack of chemistry have left them coming up short. They will do what they can to compete with Memphis and try to walk away with a win on the road.
The Timberwolves have a talented team and a talented leader. Karl Anthony Towns is one of the best centers in the league and will play a big part in Monday's game. He is coming off a 20 point and 8 rebound outing, but will need to step things up on Monday. KAT is more than capable of leading this Minnesota team to a win. He is averaging over 23 points and 9 rebounds a game. The main questions surround his efficiency. KAT will need to have a big game on Monday if the Wolves hope to take down Memphis.

Another bright spot for Minnesota has been the development of Anthony Edwards. Edwards made a run at the end of last season and showed why he was worth the first overall pick. He has since carried that momentum into this season. Edwards is averaging 23 points a game and has stepped up as the number two option on this team. If he and KAT can get things going offensively then the Wolves could compete with Memphis. Look for the sophomore to step up on Monday.
Why The Grizzlies Could Cover The Spread
The Memphis Grizzlies are a good basketball team. They are right in the middle of the pack, record-wise, but have potential to make a playoff run. After two impressive victories against the Nuggets, Memphis is coming off an embarrassing loss to the Wizards. The Grizzlies will be looking to bounce back on Monday night and dominate the Wolves. Memphis will come into this game ready to win and to do so emphatically.
The leader of the Grizzlies is Ja Morant. The third year guard has improved every season he has been in the league. This year he has really taken his game to the next level and has emerged as a star in the NBA. Morant is averaging over 25 points and 7 rebounds a game. He had a very underwhelming game against Washington, but will look to prove that was just a fluke. If Morant has a big bounce back game then the Grizzlies should have no problem putting away Minnesota.
Another bright spot for this Grizzlies team has been Desmond Bane. The second year guard has made improvements over his solid rookie season. He has started becoming an important part of the offense and plays significant minutes. Bane is averaging nearly 17 points a game and has become a solid scoring option for Memphis. If Bane has a breakout game on Monday then the Grizzlies could really end up dominating the Wolves. Look for the sophomore to put up some big shots and potentially have a big night.

This line is pretty wide. The Timberwolves have been very disappointing this season and for the most part the Grizzlies have been solid. Even with such a wide spread the Grizzlies are the right pick here. Their last game was likely a fluke and they will definitely be looking to bounce back in a big way. The under isn't a bad option either, neither of these teams typically put up big points. But still stick with Memphis.
