The Warriors' record of 23-5 is tied with the Phoenix Suns for best in the NBA heading into play Friday. Boston is 14-14 and sits as the No. 10 seed in the Eastern Conference entering this one. The Warriors enter this one as modest road favorites over the Celtics on Friday night.

Why The Warriors Could Cover The Spread

Now that Stephen Curry got the three-point record out of the way, the Warriors can collectively breathe a sigh of relief. Golden State has been one of the best road teams in the NBA this season, winning six of their last eight road games. The Warriors use their defense to take their will away from opponents, as they allow the fewest points per game in the entire NBA. Combine this with how hot Curry can get from three, and just how good he is in general, and you see why the Warriors do not lose much. Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala have the IQ and defensive savvy to elevate the entire team into a great defensive group, and the imminent return of Klay Thompson will only amplify the Warriors on both ends.
Jordan Poole has entered the league's health and safety protocols and will be out for this game. The Warriors are 9-3 on the road this season and 18-9-1 against the spread overall.
Why The Celtics Could Cover The Spread
Boston snapped a three-game losing streak Monday night with a win over the Milwaukee Bucks. The Celtics have had an up and down season, sitting at .500 through 28 games. Jayson Tatum has had a somewhat slow start to the season shooting but has began to pick it up of late. The absence of Jaylen Brown from the lineup earlier in the season also had an impact. The Celtics will look for a big win vs. the NBA's top competition on Friday as they continue to search for momentum. Ime Udoka has struggled a bit in first season as a head coach but overall it seems Boston has a chance to iron things out and be a solid team this season.
Al Horford, Grant Williams and Jabari Parker are in health and safety protocols and will be out Friday. The Celtics are 7-4 at home this season and 14-13-1 against the spread.
