The Washington Wizards are a better team than most people give them credit for. They aren't at the top of the NBA but they will be looking to fight their way into the playoffs this season. Their first loss of the season came on Monday night against one of the best teams in the league, the Brooklyn Nets. Pretty much every member of the Wizards underperformed in that matchup. The Wizards will definitely be looking to bounce back against a tough Celtics team.
Leading the way for Washington is Bradley Beal. Beal has been having a very underwhelming season so far. He has only played in two games and has failed to make the dominant impact he is capable of. That being said, the Wizards are 2-1 in spite of his struggles. Don't ever count out Beal. He is always a threat and a top candidate to go off on any given night. If Beal starts hitting shots early in this game then it could be a long night for Boston. The Wizards have become a much better overall team through their offseason additions. If Beal is having a game then this Washington team could certainly take down the Celtics.
The offseason moves from Washington were some of the best in the league. The additions of Montrezl Harrell, Spencer Dinwiddie, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Kyle Kuzma have already paid dividends. This team has become deep and the bench play will be crucial in this game. Boston's starters certainly outclass the Wizards, but if Washington can make up ground with their bench then they could win this game. This Wizards team has a lot of talent and their chemistry seems to be clicking.
Why The Celtics Could Cover The Spread
The Boston Celtics are looking to make a championship run this season. Many people thought that last year was their year, but they came up short. Boston has had a shaky start to the season but seem like they are bouncing back. The Celtics started off 0-2 but have won their last two games. They were able to take care of the Hornets in overtime. In that game, they showed their persistence and their ability to persevere and win competitive games late. This is crucial for teams that hope to make playoff runs. If this game stays close, Boston has shown that they are more than capable of pulling ahead in crunch time.
The leader and star of this Celtics team is Jayson Tatum. Tatum is coming off his best game of the season. He put up 41 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds. The difference in performance from Tatum in the first two games of the season and their last two have been drastic. Tatum is trending in the right direction and Celtics fans should be excited to see their star player playing to his capabilities. Jayson Tatum is cementing himself as a dominant force in the NBA and will look to take over against the Wizards.
Tatum's right-hand man is Jaylen Brown. Brown missed one game this season but has been extremely impactful in the games he did play. Jaylen Brown had a breakout year last season and has not slowed down. He started off the season by dropping 46 points against the Knicks and is coming off a 30 point performance against Charlotte. The Tatum-Brown duo is one that Celtics fans love and for good reason. If these guys get going there is little that Washington will be able to do.

The Celtics should have no problem making light work of Washington. While Boston struggled in their first games of the season it seems like the Celtics are back. The only concern would be if Beal had an extraordinary outing. But, the Celtics have some great defenders and one of the best offenses in the league. The over isn't a bad pick either, both of these teams offenses could go off but stick with Boston. Pick the Celtics to win and cover.
