Why The Bengals Could Win
The Cincinnati Bengals have had many ups and downs this season. They have gone on streaks of winning two games in a row, but then have followed that by losing two games in a row. Through their first 13 games they have managed to get 7 wins with only 6 losses. They have lost their last two games and will be looking to turn things around on Sunday. Last week the Bengals lost in overtime by 3 against the San Francisco 49ers. That was a tough loss for this team and they will be trying to make up for it in Week 15. The Broncos are definitely a beatable team for Cincy, they just need to come in ready to steal a win on the road.
Article Continues BelowThe leader of this team is Joe Burrow. The sophomore quarterback has stepped up his game in his second year and has been extremely impressive. In their loss to the Niners, Burrow threw for nearly 350 yards and 2 touchdowns, on top of that he completed over 73 percent of his pass attempts. On the season he has thrown for nearly 3,500 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. Burrow has been a big reason that Cincy has managed to win games. He will be a huge factor in this crucial Week 15 match up and should be able to rise to the occasion. If Burrow continues to play well then he should be able to lead his team to a win.
On the defensive side of things, the Bengals defense has been right in the middle of the pack. Cincinnati ranks 15th overall in total yards allowed. They allow just under 350 yards of offense to opposing teams. Where they are most impressive is in stopping the run. The Bengals allow just over 90 rushing yards to opposing backs. Limiting the run is a huge part of winning games in the NFL and the Bengals have been right near the top in that category. If the passing defense can do their part, then everything should fall into place for Cincinnati.
Why The Broncos Could Win
The Denver Broncos have also been having an interesting season. They have been competitive against some very tough opponents, yet have fallen short against weaker teams. Through their first 13 games they have the same record as the Bengals, 7-6. They demolished the Lions last week, winning 38-10, but anything short of destruction against Detroit would have been an underperformance. Denver faces a tough opponent this week, and this game will likely come down to the wire. If the Broncos can step up, as they have against tough opponents, then they could definitely win this game.
Leading the way for the Broncos is Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater has been playing solid football lately, and has kept this Broncos team competitive. In their win over the Lions, the Broncos quarterback threw for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns, with a completion percentage of 79%. On the season, Bridgewater has thrown for nearly 3,000 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. Denver is not a pass heavy team, but don't underestimate Bridgewater. The veteran quarterback has shown that he can still throw the ball well and he will likely set his team up to be competitive in this game.
On the other side of the ball, the Broncos defense has been great. Denver ranks 8th overall in the league in total yards allowed. They allow 105 rushing yards a game, which is definitely above average, but where they impress is in stopping the pass. The Broncos allow only 220 passing yards per game to opposing teams. Cincinnati will likely lean on their passing game and if Denver is able to limit the Bengals in that way then Denver should be able to win this game.
Final Bengals-Broncos Prediction & Pick
This should be a good game. It is likely going to come down to which team wants it more, the game will definitely play for the full four quarters and will come down to the wire. While the Broncos have the edge defensively, they likely will not be able to keep up with the explosive Bengals offense. Cincinnati is a very good, well rounded team and they know the importance of this match. Expect them to bounce back after a disappointing overtime loss to the Niners. Pick the Bengals to win and cover
